We’re looking for a committed and proactive Assistant Premises Manager to help maintain a safe, secure and welcoming environment for our pupils, staff and community.

Why this role matters

You’ll play a vital role in the daily life of the school—supporting the Premises Manager to ensure our buildings and grounds are safe, clean, compliant and fully operational. From maintenance and security to leading teams and coordinating contractors, you’ll be at the centre of it all.

What you’ll be doing

Supporting the management of the premises and cleaning teams

Helping maintain high standards of health & safety and site security

Carrying out hands-on repairs and maintenance tasks (plumbing, painting, minor building works)

Acting as a keyholder, including opening/closing and responding to alarms

Supervising contractors and ensuring compliance with safety regulations

Preparing the site for events, lettings and community use

Assisting with staff supervision, training and work planning

Monitoring and maintaining equipment, supplies and building systems

What we’re looking for

We want someone who is

Experienced

Background in caretaking, site management, maintenance or a similar role

Knowledge of building systems, security and health & safety

Practical & Skilled

Confident in carrying out a range of DIY and repair tasks

Able to identify issues and solve problems independently

A strong team player

Able to build positive relationships with staff, contractors and visitors

Capable of supervising others and contributing to team success

Organised & Reliable

Excellent time management and organisational skills

Calm under pressure with a flexible, can-do attitude

A confident communicator

Able to complete records, reports and communicate clearly with a wide range of people

Committed to safeguarding and wellbeing

Understands the importance of safeguarding, equality and supporting a safe environment for children
