Supply Teaching Assistant

Are you a dedicated and compassionate individual looking to make a difference in the lives of young learners? We have an exciting opportunity for a Teaching Assistant to join our school community in Crawley, West Sussex, starting in September 2024 for a long-term placement.

Key Responsibilities

Classroom Support

Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons.

Student Assistance

Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, helping them with their learning and development.

Behaviour Management

Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment, managing behaviour effectively.

-

Resource Preparation

Assist in the preparation of learning materials and resources to support lesson plans.

-

Administrative Tasks

Support the teacher with administrative tasks such as record-keeping and organising classroom activities.

Supervision

Supervise students during break times, lunchtimes, and other activities as required.

Individualised Support

Work with students with special educational needs (SEN) to ensure they receive the appropriate support and guidance.

Requirements

-

Experience

Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or working with children in an educational setting is highly desirable.

Qualifications

A relevant qualification in education or childcare is preferred but not essential.

Strong Communication Skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Team Player

Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and parents.

Patience and Empathy

A compassionate and patient approach to working with children.

Flexibility

Willingness to adapt to different classroom environments and teaching styles.

Safeguarding

DBS Check

An enhanced DBS check on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
