About the Role

We are looking for a reliable and motivated Hygiene Operative to join our team at the Smith & Nephew site in Hull. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a professional team responsible for maintaining exceptional hygiene and cleanliness standards within a GMP manufacturing environment.

You will play a key role in ensuring all allocated areas are cleaned to the highest standards, supporting a safe, compliant, and efficient workplace while delivering excellent service to our client.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean designated areas to GMP standards, following cleaning schedules and SOPs.
  • Complete daily, weekly and periodic cleaning tasks, including silicone line cleaning.
  • Safely use cleaning chemicals and equipment in line with COSHH and Health & Safety procedures.
  • Maintain cleaning equipment and stores, ensuring they are clean, safe and organised.
  • Report equipment faults, hazards and low stock levels to your Supervisor or Hygiene Manager.
  • Follow all GMP, GxP, Health & Safety, site security and company policies at all times.
  • Maintain high standards of personal hygiene, appearance and professionalism.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to deliver excellent service and support colleagues when required.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience in a cleaning or hygiene role, ideally within a manufacturing, pharmaceutical, healthcare or GMP environment.
  • Good understanding of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and GxP principles.
  • Strong awareness of Health & Safety procedures.
  • COSHH trained.
  • Health & Safety training (mandatory).
  • Trained in the safe use of cleaning equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Able to follow SOPs and cleaning schedules accurately.
  • Good attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards.
  • Reliable, self-motivated and able to manage workload effectively.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
