What You Will Do

  • Oversee the smooth day-to-day running of The Crypt Café, ensuring a welcoming and efficient service for pupils, staff and visitors.
  • Lead and organise daily tasks, supporting the team to deliver consistently high standards.
  • Prepare and serve a range of food and beverages, including cooking main dishes.
  • Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness, food safety, health and hygiene across the café.
  • Complete daily due diligence and temperature records, ensuring all compliance requirements are met.
  • Manage cash handling and daily reconciliations in line with College procedures.
  • Monitor stock levels and assist with stock takes as required.
  • Support hospitality events and provide cover in other catering areas when needed.
  • Build positive relationships with customers and colleagues, delivering outstanding customer service at every opportunity.

What You Bring

  • Previous experience in a catering, café, hospitality or food service environment.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage a busy workload.
  • A positive, hands-on approach and a genuine passion for delivering excellent customer service.
  • The ability to motivate others and work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Confidence working independently and taking responsibility for the smooth running of an area.
  • A good understanding of food safety, hygiene and health & safety requirements.
  • Strong communication skills and a professional, friendly manner.
  • A proactive and self-motivated attitude, with a willingness to support different areas of the catering operation when required.
  • A commitment to maintaining high standards and creating a positive experience for every customer.
