About this role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Band 7 Nurse with Biologics experience to lead the Biologics CNS team with the dermatology department at LNWH Hospital. This dynamic role is multi-faceted, involving counselling patients as they begin Biologic treatment and providing ongoing support for those with long-term inflammatory skin conditions. The post holder will be responsible for coordinating the team, managing patient investigations, developing treatment plans, monitoring progress, and conducting regular reviews.

Although primarily based within Dermatology, the role requires close collaboration with the wider multidisciplinary team (MDT), which is an essential aspect of the Lead CNS position. The successful candidate will be expected to work across both Ealing and Northwick Park Hospital sites.

As Lead CNS, the post holder will oversee service provision, ensuring patients are seen promptly and appropriately throughout their care pathway. The role also involves liaising with families and various healthcare providers to ensure seamless patient care.

This is a varied, challenging, and rewarding role. The ideal candidate will be an experienced Band 7 Nurse with a strong background in Biologic treatments, capable of working independently to manage the Biologics caseload, while leading, supporting, and ensuring the ongoing competency of the Biologics team.

Lead and actively participate in Biologics nurse-led and multidisciplinary clinics, conducting patient reviews, managing prescriptions and funding processes, and administering intravenous Biologic therapies when required. Engage in multidisciplinary team meetings, whether face-to-face, virtual, or telephone-based, while adhering to agreed clinical protocols and professional guidelines.

Provide a strong clinical presence within the service, offering guidance, support, and education to junior team members and the wider MDT. Demonstrate expert knowledge and uphold the highest standards of clinical practice.

Deliver a seamless, high-quality service for patients throughout their entire care journey — from referral and assessment to diagnosis, treatment, and review — making appropriate referrals to other healthcare professionals as necessary. Offer ongoing advice and support to staff, patients, families, and carers.

Serve as a key point of contact and source of support for patients during treatment, follow-up, and discharge.

Work autonomously to organise and manage your own workload and clinical practice, while collaborating with and supporting junior team members. Maintain and promote effective professional and emotional support networks for yourself and colleagues
