Exciting developments are underway within our Enhanced Observation Team (EOT) service, and we are looking for a dedicated and skilled individual to join us as a Band 6 RMN.

We are seeking an experienced Mental Health Nurse with strong clinical skills and confidence working within an acute hospital environment. You will bring expertise in mental health assessment, risk management, and leadership to support patients who require enhanced therapeutic observation across the trust.

As a key member of the team, you will help shape how we deliver safe, compassionate, and patient‑centred care. You will lead and support Band 3 staff, coordinate enhanced observation activity, and work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high standards are consistently met.

Our aim is to continue improving the quality of enhanced therapeutic care within the acute setting, and we are looking for someone who can help us drive this forward. You should be enthusiastic, approachable, and able to work in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining excellent communication and teamwork.

To provide day-to-day leadership, coordination, management and clinical support to the Band 5 RMN’S and Mental Healthcare Support Workers.

To provide a visible, accessible and authoritative presence in all areas of responsibility for staff, patients and carers.

To participate in developing plans of care to meet in-patient individual mental health needs in collaboration with ward staff.

To promote therapeutic relationships which take account of the patients’ customs, values and spiritual beliefs and facilitate dignity, independence and choice.

To assist staff in on-going risk assessment of patients.

To participate in promoting effective communication within and between the patients’ immediate care team and the wider multi professional team.

Enable the provision of evidence-based assessment and treatment that incorporates cultural preferences, health beliefs, behaviours and traditional practices as well as respecting differences in relation to gender, sexuality, ethnicity, religion and disability.

To enable joint delivery of specialist mental health education to the Trust staff to increase awareness, empower and enable, promote the specialist skills of mental health professionals with the aim of improving the service user experience in the Trust
