As a key member of ourHomecarePharmacy Team,you’llbe at the heart of our operations, making sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. Your attention to detail and excellent organisational skills will help us provide the best possible care to our patients, every single day.
You will be in the nerve centre of our operations, your role will involve planning and prioritising the homecare administrative workload within Homecare pharmacy. Working with clinicians and Clinical Nurse Specialists to ensure that prescriptions are received and processed in a timely manner. You will provide administrative support in the monitoring and invoicing of external homecare services for the supply of medicines to patients with the home environment. Challenging and recording of any invoice discrepancies and escalating when appropriate. You will be responsive to queries from staff, patients and external suppliers.
We are one of the largest trusts in the Country, providing district general hospital services to people in Preston and Chorley and specialist care(Neurology, Neurosurgery, Burns and Plastics, Oncology, and Renal Medicine) to 1.5m people across Lancashire and South Cumbria. Communication - Communicates all relevant information and advice to the pharmacy, nursing and medical teams, patients and service users as required.
Service Delivery - Supports the department to provide a safe and high quality homecare service in line with the Professional Standards for Homecare Services (Royal Pharmaceutical Society).
Team work- Contributes to effective team working within homecare and across pharmacy. Acts as a role model, presenting a positive image of self, team and the organisation. Develops positive relationship's with internal and external key personnel. Complies with legal and organisational requirements, standards and codes of practice on equality, diversity, discrimination and rights relevant of own role and responsibilities.
Learning and Development - Maintains and develops own competence and seeks to extend the scope of personal knowledge and skills within scope of role and professional practice, policies and legislation. Completes mandatory Trust training and any other relevant mandatory training requirements.
Quality and Governance - To contribute to ensuring the quality of homecare services. To comply with current legislation, good practice, organisational and professional codes of practice and ethical standards.
To ensure compliance with medicines legislation.
Proactively manage risk and maintain safety, conforming to health, safety and security legislation, polices, procedures and guidelines.
Service Improvement - Contribute to the delivery of the Department Service plan and developments.
Financial management - Support the department to deliver targets and achieve financial balance.
