Mental Health Unit Shift Pattern
8:00am - 8:00pm, three shifts per week across a seven-day rota, 365 days a year. Could you be there for someone in crisis? This is more than just a job it's a chance to make a real difference. About the role We have an exciting opportunity for a Crisis Recovery Worker to join our established team at Thanet Safe Haven. Thanet Safe Haven provides a welcoming, safe and supportive environment for people experiencing emotional distress or a mental health crisis. Working closely with local NHS services, emergency services and community partners, we provide timely crisis support that helps people stay safe, promotes recovery and reduces the need for hospital admission wherever possible. As a Crisis Recovery Worker, you will deliver compassionate, recovery-focused support to adults experiencing a mental health crisis. You'll provide emotional support, carry out risk assessments, develop safety plans and help people identify the practical and emotional resources they need to move forward. This varied and rewarding role involves supporting people face-to-face, by telephone and through digital platforms. You'll work collaboratively with colleagues, carers and partner agencies to ensure individuals receive the right support at the right time, while maintaining accurate records and contributing to the continuous improvement of the service. Every day is different, and your work will have a direct impact on helping people feel heard, supported and empowered during some of the most challenging moments in their lives. About you To be successful in this role, you will: Have experience supporting people with complex mental health needs in a health, social care or community setting. Be passionate about delivering recovery-focused, person-centred support that promotes independence and wellbeing. Have experience assessing and managing risk, remaining calm and confident when working in crisis situations. Be able to build trusting relationships quickly through empathy, compassion and excellent communication skills. Work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Have strong IT skills and experience maintaining accurate, timely and confidential electronic records. Be confident working collaboratively with external agencies and advocating on behalf of the people you support. Be organised, adaptable and able to make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrate emotional resilience, professionalism and a commitment to providing high-quality care. Be willing to work a rota covering weekends and bank holidays as part of a service that operates 365 days a year. Why Join Us?
