What You Can Expect in This Role
As a Mental Health Care Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting patients during transport, ensuring their safety, comfort, and wellbeing. You’ll also be responsible for driving the ambulance and working closely with healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities
Transport patients safely, including individuals in crisis or detained under the Mental Health Act.
Build trust through active listening and compassionate communication.
Follow care plans, risk assessments, and safety protocols.
Use de‑escalation techniques to support patients in distress while maintaining dignity.
Record patient information accurately (digital or paper).
Drive and maintain company vehicles to a high standard.
Keep vehicles clean, stocked, and ready for use.
Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional care.
