English Teacher

English Teacher - Alternative Provision

We are working with an alternative provision in Ashton-Under-Lyne who are looking for an English Teacher to join their team.

This role is ideal for an ECT who would like to complete their induction within an alternative provision setting, or an experienced teacher looking for a new opportunity in a supportive environment.

The classes range between 3-5 children where you will be responsible for planning and delivering effective English lessons, helping students develop their literacy skills, confidence, and independence.

Responsibilities

• Planning lessons aligning with the KS2, KS3, and KS4 curriculum.
• Differentiating in an accordance of a range of needs.
• Supporting students with additional needs to make progress.
• Managing behaviour positively and consistently.
• Working closely with support staff and other professionals.
• Tracking progress and adapting teaching where needed.

Requirements

• QTS is essential.
• Is a qualified English teacher or has strong experience teaching English.
• Has a genuine interest in SEND education.
• Is calm, consistent, and adaptable.
• Can build trust and motivate students.
• Understands that progress looks different for every learner.
