We are currently recruiting for a reliable and hardworking 7.5 Tonne Refuse Driver to join a busy waste collection team based in Alfreton.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced driver seeking consistent Monday to Friday work, a competitive hourly rate of £14.00, overtime paid at time and a half, and the chance to progress into a permanent role.

Working alongside a team of loaders, you'll safely and efficiently collect household and commercial waste across Derbyshire. With early starts and afternoon finishes, you'll enjoy a great work-life balance while playing a key role in keeping local communities clean.

Key Responsibilities

Drive a 7.5 Tonne refuse collection vehicle on designated routes throughout Derbyshire.

Work alongside a team of loaders to complete daily collection schedules.

Carry out daily vehicle safety checks and report any defects.

Ensure waste is collected safely, efficiently, and in line with company procedures.

Adhere to road traffic legislation and health and safety guidelines.

Complete any required paperwork and records accurately.

Deliver a professional and courteous service to residents and customers.

Requirements

Valid UK Category C1 (7.5 Tonne) driving licence.

Valid Driver CPC qualification.

Valid Digital Tachograph Card.

Previous experience driving a 7.5 Tonne vehicle is preferred.

Good understanding of driver hours and road transport regulations.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Reliable, punctual, and committed to safe working practices.

Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.

This is an ongoing role with the opportunity to secure a permanent contract.

Your working week will be Monday to Friday, starting at 05:45, with typical finishes around 14:00.

You will earn £14.00 per hour for the first 8 hours, rising to £21.00 per hour for all hours worked over 8 each day and for Saturday shifts.

You can accrue up to 28 days' paid holiday per year.
