About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Mechanical Engineer to join our Facilities Management team. In this role, you will deliver both planned and reactive maintenance across a range of mechanical systems, including pumps, air handling units and associated plant equipment.

You will play a key role in ensuring site operations run smoothly, responding to faults quickly to minimise downtime, and supporting project works when required. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys problem-solving, working collaboratively, and maintaining high standards of safety and compliance.

Responsibilities

Carry out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance to building services and plant equipment

Respond to faults, breakdowns and client requests, identifying root causes where possible

Complete all work in line with SLAs, KPIs and health & safety regulations

Maintain accurate records, including statutory logbooks and maintenance documentation

Use PDA/mobile systems to manage and update work orders

Escort and oversee contractors, ensuring work is completed to required standards

Identify and request materials required to complete maintenance tasks

Support project delivery and additional mechanical works as required

Build and maintain strong working relationships with client representatives

Contribute to continuous improvement and operational efficiency

Essential

Mechanical NVQ / BTEC Level 2 (or equivalent qualification)

Strong knowledge of building engineering services and mechanical systems

Experience working within a facilities maintenance environment

Understanding of electrical isolation and safety procedures

Good communication and organisational skills

IT literate, including Microsoft Office and mobile systems

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Proactive, reliable and able to work under pressure
