The Job
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Sheep Supervisor to join a leading agricultural business in Aberdeenshire. This is a hands on supervisory role, ideal for someone with strong practical sheep farming experience who enjoys leading by example in a busy livestock environment. You will oversee the day to day management of sheep operations, ensuring high standards of animal welfare, flock performance and operational efficiency.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee the daily management, care and welfare of the sheep flock
- Coordinate routine livestock activities including handling, weighing, sorting, drafting and movement of stock
- Monitor flock health, feeding programmes, and performance, working closely with veterinary teams where required
- Support lambing activities and seasonal flock management programmes
- Maintain accurate livestock records and ensure compliance with industry regulations and biosecurity standards
- Supervise and support livestock staff while operating farm machinery and livestock handling equipment safely

The Candidate
- Previous experience working within sheep farming or commercial livestock operations, with strong practical knowledge of sheep husbandry and flock management
- Confident supervising staff, making day to day operational decisions and maintaining high standards of animal welfare
- Experience with lambing, breeding programmes, livestock recording systems, and performance monitoring would be advantageous
- Competent operating livestock handling equipment and agricultural machinery, with telehandler or similar experience desirable
- Strong organisational, communication, and problem solving skills with a practical, hands on approach
- Full UK driving licence preferred, with flexibility to work seasonal hours of 50-60 hours per week

- Salary of £40,000 - £45,000 DOE

Candidate Requirements
All applicants must hold a minimum of an NVQ Level 2, Scottish NVQ Level 2, or an equivalent qualification relevant to the role applied for. Candidates must also have the legal right to work in the UK or hold a valid visa permitting employment.
