The Job

As Crop Manager, you'll be involved in all aspects of crop production, helping to deliver high quality crops while continually improving performance across the farm. This position would suit someone with practical crop production experience who is looking to take the next step in their career, as well as an existing Crop Manager looking to join a progressive business with excellent long term prospects.

Key responsibilities

  • Monitoring crop development and identifying any issues affecting crop performance
  • Managing irrigation, crop nutrition and crop protection programmes
  • Working alongside agronomists to implement growing plans and monitor crop health
  • Supporting planting programmes and coordinating harvest activities
  • Maintaining accurate crop records and ensuring best practice is followed
  • Working closely with the wider farm team to maximise crop quality, yields and efficiency

The Company

Our client is a well established farming business producing a diverse range of high value vegetable and arable crops. They are looking to recruit a Crop Manager to join their growing team, taking responsibility for supporting crop production from establishment through to harvest while working closely with the Farm Manager and agronomy team.

The Candidate

  • Practical experience within crop production, fresh produce or arable farming
  • A genuine passion for commercial agriculture
  • Good organisational and communication skills
  • The ability to work independently and make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • A proactive approach with a strong attention to detail
  • Full UK driving licence
