An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Chartered Building Surveyor / Project Manager to join a leading specialist within the insurance claims sector.

Working alongside a team of Loss Adjusters, you will manage a varied portfolio of commercial and major loss property claims, taking responsibility for the project management of building repair works from initial scope through to completion. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced surveyor who enjoys working on technically challenging projects and delivering high-quality outcomes for clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare Bills of Quantities, Schedules of Work and contract documentation.
  • Manage building repair projects from instruction through to completion.
  • Assess CDM requirements and ensure compliance throughout each project.
  • Monitor project budgets, costs and valuations.
  • Prepare tender documentation, evaluate submissions and negotiate with contractors.
  • Manage contract variations and ensure key project milestones are achieved.
  • Provide regular progress updates to clients, solicitors and other stakeholders.
  • Attend client meetings and support presentations where required.
  • Mentor and support less experienced colleagues.
  • Deliver an exceptional level of customer service while maintaining technical excellence.

About You

  • Chartered Surveyor (ARICS, MRICS or FRICS preferred).
  • Strong background in Building Surveying with proven project management experience.
  • Experience preparing tenders, contract documentation and managing construction projects.
  • Excellent knowledge of CDM regulations.
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to control costs and budgets.
  • Confident communicator with excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
  • Able to manage multiple projects and work independently.

Experience within insurance-related building repairs, including claims arising from fire, flood, subsidence, impact damage or other major property losses, would be advantageous but is not essential. Previous management or mentoring experience would also be beneficial.
