Manchester - Hybrid Working

IPS Group is partnering with a global insurer to recruit a Senior Cyber & Technology Underwriter for its growing Manchester team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Cyber, Technology, or Financial Lines Underwriter looking to play a key role in the continued expansion of a highly successful regional Cyber portfolio.

As a senior member of the team, you will be responsible for driving profitable growth across the regional market through a combination of technical underwriting, business development, broker relationship management, and portfolio strategy execution. This is a highly visible role offering the opportunity to influence growth plans, support product development initiatives, and contribute to the wider direction of the Cyber proposition. The Role You will underwrite both new and renewal Cyber and Technology business, taking ownership of broker relationships across the region and identifying opportunities to develop the portfolio in line with strategic objectives. Alongside underwriting responsibilities, you will help execute the annual Cyber strategy, contribute to business development initiatives, and support the ongoing evolution of Cyber products and market positioning.

Working closely with colleagues across Financial Lines and Cyber, you will utilise financial analysis, claims data, market intelligence, and risk assessment tools to make sound underwriting decisions while ensuring profitable portfolio growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Underwrite Cyber and Technology risks across both new business and renewals.
  • Drive profitable new business growth within the regional market.
  • Build, develop, and maintain strong relationships with key broker partners.
  • Support the delivery of regional business plans and Cyber growth strategies.
  • Contribute to Cyber product development initiatives and thought leadership activity.
  • Monitor portfolio performance, retention, and underwriting profitability.
  • Negotiate terms and pricing for complex and strategic opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with wider Financial Lines and Cyber teams to achieve business objectives.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven Cyber, Technology, or Financial Lines underwriting experience.
  • Strong track record of developing new business and delivering profitable growth within the regional market.
  • Experience managing and strengthening broker relationships at a senior level.
  • Commercially minded with strong technical underwriting and risk assessment capabilities.
  • Ability to balance growth opportunities with underwriting discipline and portfolio management.
  • Experience contributing to portfolio strategy, product development, or broader market initiatives would be advantageous.

Hybrid Working

This role is based in Manchester and operates on a flexible hybrid basis, typically requiring three days per week in the office alongside broker meetings and home working.
