The Role

  • Review and assess referrals, providing technical guidance on more complex cases.
  • Support profitable growth through sound underwriting judgement and commercial decision-making.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across underwriting, trading and leadership teams.
  • Monitor business performance and contribute ideas to support sustainable portfolio growth.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve underwriting processes, customer experience and trading performance.
  • Utilise underwriting insight, market knowledge and data to support business objectives.

Requirements

  • Strong Professional Indemnity underwriting experience gained within an insurer or MGA environment.
  • Experience handling referral business and more complex underwriting decisions.
  • Good understanding of portfolio performance, underwriting controls and risk management.
  • Commercially minded with the ability to balance growth and profitability objectives.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A collaborative approach with the desire to contribute beyond day-to-day underwriting responsibilities.

Why Join?

  • Newly created role with significant visibility and influence across the business.
  • Opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of a successful direct trading operation.
  • Exposure to strategic projects and wider business initiatives.
  • Clear opportunities for career progression within a growing division.
  • Supportive, forward-thinking culture with ongoing investment in technology and innovation.
  • Competitive salary, bonus potential and comprehensive benefits package.
