We are currently recruiting for a Project Manager to join a leading organisation within the Rail Rolling Stock industry, based at their state-of-the-art overhaul facility in Manchester.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of overhaul and engineering projects, working closely with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
We are seeking a proactive and driven individual with strong project coordination and stakeholder management skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing project activities from initiation through to completion, ensuring timelines are met and suppliers are effectively managed throughout the process.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and coordinate overhaul and engineering projects from start to finish.
Liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure project objectives are achieved.
Monitor project progress and proactively resolve any issues that may impact delivery.
Follow up and chase suppliers to ensure materials, services, and deliverables are provided on time.
Maintain project schedules and ensure key milestones are achieved.
Provide regular project updates to stakeholders and management.
Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and operational requirements.
About You
We are looking for a dynamic and organised professional who can take ownership of projects and drive them through to successful completion. Will consider an Engineer who is looking to progress to a Project Manager
Candidates will be considered from a variety of backgrounds including
Rail Rolling Stock
Heavy Engineering
Construction
Civil Engineering / Civil Works
We are also keen to hear from experienced Overhaul Engineers who are looking to transition into a project implementation and management role.
Preferred Skills & Experience
Previous experience managing projects or coordinating complex engineering activities.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple activities simultaneously.
Experience working with suppliers and subcontractors.
Mechanical or Electrical qualification desirable.
Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced engineering environment.
