What you will do

Case Management

Manage a varied caseload of children, young people, and families requiring support and intervention.

Assessment

Undertake comprehensive assessments to identify needs, risks, strengths, and protective factors.

Care Planning

Develop and implement effective plans that support positive outcomes for children and families.

Multi-Agency Coordination

Chair multi-agency meetings and coordinate support services to ensure timely and effective interventions.

Safeguarding

Contribute to safeguarding processes, child protection planning, and interventions where necessary.

Court Work

Prepare reports and contribute to court proceedings where required.

Family Support

Build effective relationships with children and families to promote engagement, resilience, and positive change.

Partnership Working

Collaborate closely with education, health services, police, and other partner agencies.

Record Keeping

Maintain accurate, timely, and high-quality case records in line with statutory and organisational requirements.

Qualifications / Requirements

Social Work Qualification

Degree in Social Work or equivalent recognised qualification.

Registration

Current Social Work England registration.

Experience

Minimum of three years' post-qualification experience within Children's Social Care.

Safeguarding Expertise

Strong background in safeguarding, child protection, and family support services.

Assessment Skills

Experience conducting complex assessments, care planning, and risk management.

Practice Knowledge

Commitment to relationship-based and trauma-informed practice.

Communication Skills

Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.

Mentoring Skills

Experience supporting or guiding less experienced practitioners is desirable.
