Luma Education Recruitment is looking for a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) or an experienced Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive rural school in the TQ13 area of Devon.

This rewarding opportunity involves providing 1:1 support for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them to build confidence, develop independence and achieve their full potential.

Provide dedicated 1

1 support for pupils with SEND and SEMH needs.

  • Support children with Autism (ASC/ASD), ADHD, communication needs and additional learning needs.
  • Deliver targeted interventions and adapt learning to meet individual EHCP outcomes.
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and therapists to support pupil progress.
  • Promote positive behaviour using consistent and nurturing approaches.
  • Build strong relationships with pupils to encourage confidence, engagement and independence.
  • Support pupils academically, socially and emotionally throughout the school day.
  • HLTA qualification or an experienced Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant.
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH, Autism (ASC/ASD), ADHD or behavioural needs.
  • Experience working within schools, specialist settings, alternative provision or youth work.
  • A patient, resilient and compassionate approach.
  • Ability to work independently while being part of a collaborative team.
  • TeamTeach, PRICE or other positive behaviour management training is desirable but not essential.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Competitive daily pay of £100-£120, paid weekly.
