Teaching on Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 Programmes

Long Term Futures are working in partnership with an Outstanding Further Education College in Burton upon Trent (DE14) to appoint a Fabrication & Welding Course Leader on a permanent basis. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching across Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 Fabrication & Welding programmes, supporting learners to achieve excellent practical and theoretical outcomes. You will take lead responsibility for the Level 2 programme, playing a key role in curriculum development, learner achievement, and preparing students for successful careers within the engineering and manufacturing sectors.

The Role

  • Deliver engaging Fabrication & Welding lessons across Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 programmes
  • Lead and coordinate the Level 2 Fabrication & Welding programme, ensuring high learner achievement and progression
  • Plan, prepare, assess, and monitor learner progress in line with awarding body requirements
  • Design and develop learning materials to support practical and theoretical delivery
  • Monitor attendance, retention, achievement, and learner outcomes
  • Support learners in developing industry-standard fabrication, welding, and engineering skills
  • Work collaboratively with Curriculum Team Leaders, Course Leaders, and management to continuously improve the curriculum

We Are Looking For

  • You must have an enhanced DBS on the update service
  • A Level 3 qualification in Fabrication & Welding (or equivalent)
  • Recent and/or extensive commercial experience within the Fabrication & Welding industry
  • Previous teaching experience within Further Education is desirable
  • Initial Teacher Training qualification or willingness to work towards one
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan, assess, and maintain accurate learner records
  • Up-to-date industry knowledge and a genuine passion for developing the future engineering workforce
