About this role
We are looking for a dedicated and motivated nurse to join the TB team at Whipps Cross Hospital, to provide expert nursing care and clinical leadership. A passion to work with our more vulnerable and underserved patients is vital. The role will involve working across both clinic and community.
We are a small team working in collaboration with the respiratory, ID and paediatric teams as well as the wider Barts TB teams and the Queen Mary and Barts Health TB centre.
Managing a defined case load of patients with active/latent TB.
Overseeing the management of patients with complex social needs.
Collaborative working with partnership agencies
Undertaking nurse led clinics including contact and latent TB screening.
Supporting and developing junior staff
Service development/innovation
To work as part of the Tuberculosis (TB) nursing team to provide and accessible and responsive high-quality TB nursing service within Barts Health NHS trust.
To facilitate high quality, individualised care to patients (adults and children), their contacts and the wider community in collaboration with the multi professional team and with other agencies, in accordance with national guidelines and locally agreed policies.
To act as a specialist role model in the delivery of expert, patient centred nursing care and advice as a case manager for own caseload of patients being treated for TB and latent TB.
Tolead on the management of complex TB patients with an emphasis on the underserved population, developing effective partnerships with allied services.
To develop clinical leadership skills, to lead the TB team at Whipps Cross Hospital
Demonstrate highly developed and advanced specialist TB knowledge and skills through innovative practice leading to the development of increasing levels of autonomy.
