What you will do

Occupational Therapy Assessments

Undertake assessments and interventions, providing advice, retraining, and recommendations for specialist equipment and environmental adaptations.

Adaptation Recommendations

Prepare accurate specifications for environmental adaptations under the guidance and support of qualified Occupational Therapists.

Risk Management

Identify and manage risks associated with specialist equipment and home adaptations to ensure safe and effective use.

Mobility Assessments

Conduct mobility assessments and support access to concessionary travel schemes, including Blue Badges, Freedom Passes, and parking bays.

Resource Management

Ensure effective use of service resources, including time, equipment, and funding allocations.

Partnership Working

Work collaboratively with service users, carers, Occupational Therapists, housing teams, and partner agencies.

Advice and Signposting

Provide information, advice, and signposting to relevant community and universal services.

Telecare Recommendations

Assess and recommend TeleCare and assistive technology solutions where appropriate.

Record Keeping

Maintain accurate and timely records in accordance with service standards and local authority requirements.

Qualifications / Requirements

Experience

Previous experience working within Occupational Therapy, Adult Social Care, Housing Adaptations, Rehabilitation, or a related setting.

Assessment Skills

Experience supporting assessments, equipment provision, and adaptation recommendations.

Knowledge

Understanding of promoting independence, disability support, and person-centred practice.

Communication Skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with service users and professionals.

Organisational Skills

Ability to manage competing priorities and maintain accurate records.

Team Working

Proven ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary and multi-agency environments.

IT Skills

Competent in maintaining electronic records and utilising digital systems.
