About the Class

You'll be teaching a small, well‑supported class of pupils with Autism and complex needs. All children have significant language delay; most are pre‑verbal, while a few have emerging language and are beginning to communicate using simple words, gestures or AAC. The classroom is calm, predictable and highly sensory‑aware, with a strong focus on communication, engagement and developmental learning.

The Role

We are seeking a patient, adaptable and child‑centred SEN Teacher to join this specialist provision on a temp‑to‑perm basis. You'll work closely with experienced TAs, Speech & Language Therapists and senior leaders to deliver personalised learning that meets each child's developmental stage.

This role suits teachers who

• Have experience with Autism, complex needs, SLD/PMLD, or communication‑focused settings
• Can confidently adapt curriculum for pre‑verbal learners
• Thrive in structured environments
• Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils who rely on consistency

Requirements

• QTS/QTLS or strong SEN teaching background
• Experience supporting pupils with Autism and communication delay
• Ability to differentiate for sensory and communication‑based learning
• Calm, resilient and nurturing approach
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
