Overall Purpose Of Job

This is a pivotal and hands-on role combining deep technical expertise in composite processes with a strong focus on people

development and performance improvement. The Composite based Technical Specialist will be responsible for the delivery of project

based programs while upskilling the production team.

This role is responsible for ensuring all production staff across all composite departments consistently meet the high-quality

standards and efficiency KPIs required for our customer base. You will serve as the technical authority for process adherence and

act as a key stakeholder for NPI and continuous improvement projects.

Responsibilities

* Technical project delivery. Leading small teams to develop the manufacturing process prior to release into production.

* Up-skilling experienced team members creating the pipeline of future top tier composite technicians

* Provide a technical support function to the engineering and sales team during the quotation and feasibility review stage of new

projects

* To assist the project management and engineering team in the timely and cost effective introduction of new products with

regular feedback of any manufacturing issues to maintain delivery of the project.

* To assist in the generation of process and testing documentation including work instructions, control plans, FMEA’s,

care-points and other relevant production and health and safety literature.

* Assist in the design of production layouts with emphasis on the optimisation of product flow in line with industry standard 6S,

Lean manufacturing and Health and Safety practices

Competencies

*

Technical Expertise (essential)

Deep, demonstrable practical experience across composite processes.

*

Process knowledge (essential)

Expert-level understanding of composite lamination, tooling manufacture, autoclave curing, tool

and component repairs and demould.

* Strong ability to lead, influence and motivate a skilled production workforce while maintaining professional standards and

enforcing discipline.

* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and interact with people at all levels

* Ability to prioritise and track own workload and work under direction

Experience

*

Composite Experience

>10 years working within a demanding, high-pace, quick turn-around automotive manufacturing environment

desirable

* Specific experience in highly complex structural and visual composite production, including mule builds and prototyping.

Assessment and recruitment

Experience designing and executing hands-on trades tests and conducting structured performance

assessments

*

Performance Management

experience in formal performance management, driving quantifiable performance improvements
