About Us
We are a community focused charity committed to improving wellbeing, connection, and access to inclusive services. Every surplus we generate is reinvested directly into enhancing our programmes and facilities. Guided by a dedicated Board of Trustees who volunteer their time and expertise, we work closely with local people to ensure our activities remain open, welcoming, and accessible to all.
The Role
We are now seeking a motivated and detail focused Finance Assistant to support the full breadth of our financial operations. This is a varied and hands on role, ideal for someone who enjoys working across the full 360 degree finance cycle within a small, collaborative team.
You will play a key part in ensuring accurate financial processing, strong internal controls, and smooth day to day administration. Your responsibilities will span bookkeeping, invoice processing, bank reconciliations, payroll support, VAT documentation, credit control, and maintaining financial records. You will also work closely with colleagues across the organisation, providing timely support and contributing to the effective financial management of the charity.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your finance skills while supporting meaningful work that directly benefits the community.
What We’re Looking For
•Experience working in a finance or accounts based role, ideally covering a broad range of transactional tasks.
•Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in financial processing.
•Good understanding of basic accounting principles and confidence using finance systems and Microsoft Office (particularly Excel).
•Experience maintaining purchase and sales ledgers, processing invoices, and completing bank reconciliations.
•Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise professionally with colleagues, suppliers, and external partners.
•A proactive, flexible approach and a willingness to support wider team needs.
•Integrity, confidentiality, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Desirable
•Experience working within a finance environment.
•Experience using accounting software such as Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks.
•Interest in or willingness to pursue an accounting qualification (e.g., AAT).
Why Join Us?
•A friendly, supportive, and purpose driven working environment.
•The chance to contribute directly to community wellbeing through strong financial stewardship.
•A varied role with opportunities to develop your finance skills.
•Work that makes a meaningful difference in your own community.
If you are an organised, hands on finance professional who enjoys variety and wants to support a charity with real impact, we would love to hear from you.
