This appointment is for a Consultant Medical Oncologist with an interest in Urological cancers and Germ Cell tumours based at University Hospital Southampton.
You will join the Medical Oncology consultant team, specifically
- To provide specialist Medical Oncology input with expertise in Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy for these groups of patients.
- To treat patients with Urological and Germ cell tumours at UHS.
- To provide oncology input to the UHS Urology MDT and Germ cell MDT.
This post is available as a part time 8.25 PA post. Job share applicants will be considered.

The principal duties of this post will be to
- Be a member of the Urological and Germ Cell MDT meetings
- Participate in the management of Urological and GCT patients
- Attend the Uro and GCT MDT meetings
- Share the patient referrals
- Support the Patient Triggered Follow Up (PTFU) pathways
- Provide medical oncology expertise to the Uro/GCT services
- Plan and supervise chemo/immunotherapy
- Conduct on treatment review clinics
- Supervise care of inpatients providing cross-cover for annual leave for other Uro/GCT Consultants at UHS.
- Provide Consultant input to Acute Oncology service at UHS.
- Engage in peer review meetings
- Participate in the recruitment and running of clinical trials
