The Role – Trainee Roofing Surveyor

A great opportunity for someone with strong mathematical ability who wants to build a long‑term career in estimating or surveying within the construction industry. The role is office‑based with regular site visits, so you must be comfortable travelling.

Key Responsibilities

Review roofing tender packages and understand project requirements

Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing

Attend site visits to carry out full measured surveys on pitched and flat roofs

Complete take‑offs and prepare accurate estimates for roofing and associated works

Assist with bid preparation and ensure documentation is complete and compliant

Work on a variety of projects, from domestic properties to large commercial and public‑sector buildings

The Right Person

Ideally some construction experience, but not essential

Strong mathematical ability

GCSE Mathematics grade C (4/5) or above

Good IT skills and confident using software

Full UK driving licence

Strong communicator with a positive attitude

Keen to learn, develop and build a long‑term career in surveying or estimating
