From £32,846 per annum, inclusive of enhancements

Hours

Full-time, 37 hours per week, plus 10 sleep-in shifts per month and overtime opportunities

Roster

3 week rolling roster to include weekends and Bank holidays

Average of 3 long shifts and sleeps per week = 24.5 hours x 3

About the Role

As a Residential Childcare Support Worker, you will perform a vital role in our children's lives, working as part of a team, and being a responsible, trusted ‘parent figure’ for looked-after children.

Your responsibilities include

Building strong, positive relationships with children who have experienced traumatic and difficult backgrounds

Supporting their educational and emotional development, helping them to heal and thrive

Plan and co-ordinate engaging, fun activities, encouraging the children’s leisure interests

Ensure a structured, safe, comfortable home environment

Follow regulatory processes using IT, good administration and record keeping

About you

To succeed as a Residential Childcare Support Worker, we’re looking for candidates who are

Dedicated to child safeguarding

Empathetic and effective communicators, able to form trusted, meaningful relationships with children

Passionate about making a positive difference in children’s welfare

Resilient and patient, capable of handling challenging behaviours

Proactive and creative in activity planning

Capable of practical ‘life skills’ including cooking, cleaning and good home management

Detail-oriented and competent users of IT, to ensure that every child’s needs are met and documented in line with regulatory expectations and standards

Essential must haves

A valid UK driving licence and a willingness to travel as part of the role, including areas of Southampton, Eastleigh and Head Office in Ringwood.

Willingness to pursue relevant qualifications such as NVQ Level 4 in Children, Young People & Families Practitioner.
