OurPhysiotherapy Departmentis committed to advancing the role of physiotherapy in respiratory care. Under the mentorship of experienced Band 7 professionals, you will receive strong guidance, career development opportunities, and a culture that fosters excellence, innovation, and continuous professional development (CPD).
The team together covers our Respiratory Ward, Cardiology and our Medical Acute Dependency Unit. Although this post mainly focuses on MADU and our Respiratory Ward.
As a staticsenior clinician, you will play a key role in
- Supervising, educating, and appraising physiotherapists, support staff, and students.
- Leading and contributing to service development, ensuring high-quality patient care and innovation in practice.

- Deliver high-quality physiotherapy services, assessing and treating patients, including those with complex needs, using evidence-based practice.
- Undertake comprehensive patient assessments, formulate individualised management and treatment plans, and implement a range of specialised interventions.
- Maintain professional and legal accountability for all aspects of clinical practice, including accurate patient documentation and adherence to professional guidelines.
- Demonstrate expertise in clinical governance and risk management, ensuring that treatment plans are supported by current evidence.
- Utilise advanced manual techniques and therapeutic handling, often requiring moderate physical effort.
- Stay abreast of developments within the speciality, analyse current research, and implement changes in clinical practice.
- Safely use and ensure the maintenance of physiotherapy equipment, adhering to departmental policies.
- Participation in weekend and emergency on call rotas
