About this role
We are seeking a Business Support Assistant to join our busy Environmental & Regulation Service.
This is a key customer focused role, acting as the first point of contact for the service and providing essential administrative support.
About the Role
Acting as the first point of contact for the Environmental & Regulation Service
Responding to a high volume of telephone and email enquiries from members of the public, businesses, and internal colleagues
Providing accurate information and effectively signposting enquiries to the appropriate officers or teams
Supporting the smooth day‑to‑day operation of a fast‑paced service
Maintaining records and ensuring enquiries are logged and processed efficiently
What We’re Looking For
Experience in the use of Microsoft Office 365, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Excellent team‑working skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a busy environment
Strong customer care and communication skills, with confidence liaising with members of the public, front‑line staff and external agencies
Good organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to remain calm and professional while managing competing priorities
Desirable Experience
Experience of working within a Local Authority
A working knowledge of Acolaid, Netcall and Microsoft Teams would be beneficial
