About this role
Core Responsibilities
General labouring duties
Moving materials, tools, and equipment around site
Keeping work areas clean and safe
Assisting different trades as needed
Basic electrical support work
Running cables and trunking under supervision
Drilling and chasing walls for wiring routes
Installing cable trays, conduit, and containment
Pulling wires through ducts
Mounting back boxes, sockets, or light fittings (basic prep work)
What You Won’t Usually Do
Final electrical connections (unless trained and qualified)
Testing and certification
Complex fault-finding
Those tasks are typically handled by fully qualified electricians due to safety regulations.
Skills & Requirements
Essential
Good physical fitness
Basic tool handling (drills, hand tools)
Awareness of site safety
Helpful / Often Requested
A CSCS Card (very common requirement in the UK)
Some knowledge of electrical basics
Experience on construction sites
Bonus (can lead to better roles)
Level 1 or 2 electrical qualification
Experience as an electrical mate
Work Environment
