As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be an integral part of a dedicated team, working alongside experienced educators to foster an inclusive and nurturing learning environment. Your daily responsibilities will include, but are not limited to

  • Providing one-on-one or small-group support to students with special educational needs, tailoring your approach to meet their unique requirements
  • Collaborating with teachers to develop and implement individualised education plans, ensuring each student receives the personalised attention they deserve
  • Assisting in the delivery of lessons, adapting teaching materials and strategies to accommodate the diverse learning styles of your students
  • Offering emotional and social support to students, helping them navigate the challenges they may face and fostering a caring, inclusive environment
  • Maintaining meticulous records and documentation to track student progress and communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and other professionals
  • Participating in training and professional development opportunities to continuously enhance your skills and knowledge in the field of special educational needs

  • Relevant experience working with students with special educational needs, either in a school setting or a similar educational environment
  • A Level 2 or 3 qualification in Teaching Assistance, Special Educational Needs, or a related field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents
  • Strong problem-solving and adaptability skills, with the flexibility to respond to the diverse needs of your students
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support and empower students with special educational needs
  • Familiarity with assistive technologies and strategies for supporting students with a range of needs
