About this role
The provisional timetable represents a job plan consisting of 10 programmed activities (PAs) per week. The job plan is a prospective agreement that sets out the consultants duties, responsibilities and objectives for the coming year. It covers all aspects of the consultants professional practice including clinical work, teaching, research, education and managerial responsibilities. It will provide a clear schedule of commitments, both internal and external. In addition it will include personal objectives including details of their link to wider service objectives and details of the support required by the consultant to fulfil the job plan and the objectives. The job plan, for 10 PAs will commence including 1.5 Supporting Professional Activities [SPA]. After six months in post the SPA allocation will be reviewed with the post holder and any necessary adjustments will be made with a maximum of 2.5 SPAs. It is expected that more direct clinical care (DCC) sessions in theatre or clinic would be available if required. Current on call commitments are based around a 1:7 provision.
