Electrical maintenance assistant | Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

About this role

Perform work including activities which are non-routine. Assist with electrical, building services and grounds maintenance within the hospital environment including plantrooms and ward areas, completing planned preventative maintenance and defect dockets. There will be a small amount of assistance with installation works with all trades as necessary, as well as PAT testing.

Undertaking maintenance, repairs, minor improvement and capital work across the Trust and its contracted customers as directed by management, ensuring compliance with Trust safety standards and procedures.

The role would be principally based on the Trust site at Winchester, however dependant on the needs of the service it may be required to work on the other site locations (including Andover and Basingstoke).

  • To work in accordance with the requirements of the Trust for assisting trade staff and carrying out low grade mechanical and electrical and building tasks.

· To be prepared to work in hazardous areas taking all safety measures to preventdanger, avoidinjuryand prevent damage to equipment.

  • To ensure that all work is carried out in a safe manner, following the appropriate risk assessment at all times.
  • Subject to an individual’s availability, work overtime to carry out reactive and pre-planned maintenance as required by management.
  • To attend training courses as required to maintain the ability to carry out the role.
  • Provide training, technical advice and support to new Maintenance Assistants.
  • Uses all relevant tools and equipment within safety guidelines as necessary for the completion of works.

Undertake other duties appropriate to the grade.
