About the role
We're looking to recruit a FTC part-time, (5 days a week, half day AM, for a 12 month contract) Rents Transaction Assistant to
join our Finance team and play a key role in keeping our rent accounting accurate, efficient, and customer‑focused.
Reporting to the Rents Manager, this role primarily focuses on all daily rental income which must be completed accurately and
reconciled to SLA’s and other duties assigned by Rents Manager. You will deputise for the Rents Manager where required and deliver
a great service by taking ownership, and proactively resolving, customer needs.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a role in the transformation of the delivery of financial services to our customers within
agreed targets.
Where issues arise, you will be the first point of contact wherever possible. You’ll also share ideas, information, and best
practice with colleagues, so that we can continually improve our service and find creative solutions to problems.
About You
It goes without saying that you’ll have fantastic customer service and financial administration skills to effectively manage a
wide range of rent account daily functions. You’ll also be able to work effectively with colleagues across the organisation.
It is preferred that the appointed candidate has experience of working in a rents role. We do also welcome someone that is
self-motivated, positive, works well under pressure, adaptable to changes, and embraces working as part of a team, also able to
prioritise their workload to ensure that they achieve performance targets and outcomes.
With excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, you will be well-organised with a keen eye for detail and have
strong analytical skills, good IT skills, including intermediate Excel.
Experience of working within the housing sector is desirable.
Essentially you will bring your expertise in providing attention to detail and accuracy when processing figures. You will be able
to work both as a team and independently with the ability to adapt and learn quickly.
Key Responsibilities
* Rent Accounting and Debit Control, inputting information into the rents system
* Processing all payment methods
* Processing tenant accounts adjustments
* Processing new rent re-lets
* To assist with the rent increase process
* Correspondence with tenants
* Maintaining the system
* Liaison with other sections of mhs homes and outside agencies
* Deputising for the Rents Transactions Manager in their absence
* Any other duties determined by the Rents Transactions manager as being appropriate
