What skills and experience we're looking for
The ideal candidate will be passionate about the Science curriculum and how this can be taught in an inspiring way to maximise student engagement and success. They will be able to provide effective support to the Science department and steer areas of common interest and strategy across the department in order to enhance the quality of learning and achievement. Applications are welcome from experienced teachers and ECTs at this popular and over-subscribed boys’ grammar school with mixed sixth form.

Tunbridge Wells Grammar School for Boys is one of the largest boy’s grammar schools within the country. In late 2021, we benefitted from a multi-million pound investment which resulted in a brand-new Sports building at our Tunbridge Wells campus and the opening of our Sevenoaks campus.

The highly successful, thriving and popular Science department is seeking a new Science teacher to join in September 2026.
The Science department has 11 laboratories at the main Tunbridge Wells campus and six further laboratories at the Sevenoaks campus. All are fully equipped for high-quality teaching and learning and one laboratory is specialised for teaching A Level Chemistry. The Science department is supported by a team of five technicians.
