Due to ongoing service expansion, we are seeking to recruit a highly motivated, enthusiastic plain film Radiographer for our Prison Services, specifically covering South Region. This role is based within our prisons across the South region. Travel between sites will be required and expenses will be reimbursed. To succeed you must be experienced and have excellent communication skills and a flexible, proactive approach to delivering first class diagnostic services and patient care. Job Purpose

To contribute to providing a high quality, efficient and effective service, with responsibility for the day-to-day running of the X-Ray list, X-Ray safety management, quality management of equipment and images, and administrative duties as required to maintain an efficient service. To ensure an exemplary level of customer service is upheld to patients, consultants and the clinic team at all times. To perform a range of general plain film examinations, maintaining the highest professional and technical standards, whilst promoting high professional and ethical standards of clinical practice to ensure that all aspects of clinical governance are fulfilled. To promote the highest quality healthcare as part of the multidisciplinary team and maintain a high professional and technical standard through personal Continuing Professional Development. To manage the plain film workflow and ensure all data input is recorded accurately for both patient record integrity and statistical evaluation purposes.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

To exercise the highest standard of patient care and actively improve the patient experience. To provide a safe environment for both staff, patients and visitors, complying with current legislation relating to all aspects of health and safety, plain film safety regulations, reporting any untoward incidents and being involved in risk assessments, and incident reporting. To vet specific X-Ray requests as required with advice and guidance from the Clinical Director. To ensure that all equipment servicing is carried out to the required standards and any faults are reported to the Lead Radiographer and recorded. To liaise with engineers as required when the Lead Radiographer is absent. To ensure equipment quality assurance is carried out as required and to seek advice from appropriately qualified advisors. To uphold all relevant safety and recommended guidelines. To be conversant with the patient RIS/PACS system, understanding the appointment and bookings system To participate in the extended working day and bank holiday rota as appropriate. To be flexible with shift patterns in view of staffing levels and training needs. To participate in any appropriate clinical/communications meetings To ensure that urgent findings are communicated with clinicians accordingly. To ensure appropriate consent has been acquired depending on the imaging protocol.

General Responsibilities

To ensure that all information of a confidential nature gained in the course of duty is not divulged to third parties. To notify the Lead Radiographer or the Clinical Services Manager or the Manager in Charge, as soon as possible of your inability to report for duty. To adhere to all Company policies and procedures within the defined timescales. To complete and adhere to all Mandatory Training requirements including the management of health and safety, risk management and adverse incidents. To maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times. Partake in the appraisal scheme and to ensure that objectives are supported and met within available resources. To maintain accurate departmental records and ensure conformance to the Data Protection Act, Caldicott Principles and Code of Conduct to ensure that appropriate security measures are in operation at all times

Qualifications & Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria: Hold a BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography or an equivalent HCPC-approved qualification Be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Diagnostic Radiographer Have experience in performing general X-ray (plain film) examinations in accordance with IR(ME)R and local protocols Demonstrate a sound understanding of radiation protection, image quality, and patient care
