Band 7 Physiotherapist

About this role

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to: Managing a clinical caseload of patients in the PCRF which will include patients with musculoskeletal injuries. Providing supervision, teaching and support for all grades within the PCRF. Being responsible for ensuring the Band 6 Physiotherapists, Band 5 Exercise Rehabilitation Instructors (ERI) are managing clinical caseload appropriately within the same guidelines. Performing highly skilled physiotherapeutic assessment of patients referred to the PCRF. These can have diverse presentations and complex, and with acute/chronic physical and psychological conditions. To use clinical reasoning skills to provide an accurate clinical diagnosis. Assessing, developing and implementing physiotherapy treatment plans for a military specialist caseload, and to provide advice in this specialist field which is tailored to the individuals needs and based on evidence-based practice, manual assessment and appropriate clinical reasoning. Communicating effectively with patients to ensure informed consent for treatment, good understanding of their conditions and maximise their rehabilitation potential. This can be by face-to-face (F2F), video or telephone consultations. Patients may have a barrier to communication e.g. English as their second language. Liaising closely with the Consultants in Rheumatology and Rehabilitation, Sport and Exercise Medicine, Orthopaedics and Radiology regarding the management of highly complex patients when required and ensure patients are aware of changes. They are to provide Rehab specific opinion to enable informed choice against known MOD care pathway options. Please find the attached Job Description document for further responsibilities.
