The Best Connection are currently recruiting an experienced Wood Machinist for a well‑established and respected client within the construction industry, based in Forest Row. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing business.

Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 5:00pm, plus alternate Saturdays, 8am to 1pm
Pay
£13.67 an hour to £14.52 an hour depending on experience.
Responsibilities of the Wood Machinist
- Operating a range of woodworking machinery safely and efficiently
- Selecting appropriate timber to meet order requirements
- Ensuring all orders are completed on time and to the highest quality standards
- Carrying out quality control checks throughout the production process
- Keeping the work area clean, tidy, and safe at all times
- Understanding and adhering to risk assessments and safe systems of work
- Completing additional duties as required
Requirements of the Wood Machinist
- Ideally experience operating woodworking machinery, including: Resaw, CNC Moulder, 6 Head Planer, Thicknesser, Spindle Moulder
- Ideally experience operating Sideloader and Counterbalance Forklifts
- Good understanding of timber products and machining processes (ideal but not essential)
- Ability to read and follow instructions from sales orders
- Physically fit and capable of manual work
- Able to work independently and use own initiative
- Strong awareness of health and safety procedures
- Full UK driving licence required
