An opportunity has arisen for an experienced individual to join the Division B Management team as a care group manager for Specialist Medicine.

This role is to oversee the operational delivery of all services in the care group based within University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust to ensure safe care and effective use of all resources. The post holder will support the strategic development of services to achieve the requirements of national performance indicators and contract specifications in line with the local health economy and local delivery planning process.

Specialist medicine is a large and complex care group offering both local services to the people of Southampton and southwest Hampshire, and tertiary services to 3 million people across the south coast and Channel Islands. We deliver specialty services including genetics, respiratory, diabetes and endocrine, DEXA, endoscopy, dermatology, rheumatology, hepatology, alcohol, gastroenterology, IBD and managed care.

What you’ll do

  • Oversee the operational delivery of all services in your care group to ensure safe care and effective use of all resources.
  • Operational management responsibility for a wide group of internal and external stakeholders including specialty lead clinicians, matrons, operational managers within the care group - and across the Trust.
  • You will demonstrate your ability to manage a range of challenges from project delivery to policy and finance to working across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, keeping the patient at the heart of all that we do.
  • Lead on service and Trust wide transformation projects and support the strategic development of services to ensure alignment to our Trust values.
