About this role

ThePharmacy Technician Apprenticeshipprovides fully funded training, nationally recognised qualification, and a salary while you learn.

After completing the programme, you can register with theGeneral Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)as a qualified Pharmacy Technician.

Training is intensive and requires strong motivation, commitment, and organisation.

You’ll need to complete around 10–15 hours of home study each weekalongside your job.

Good communication, attention to detail, time management, and the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines are essential.

The role includes workingevenings, weekends, and bank holidays.

Applicantsmustmeet all apprenticeship eligibility criteria, includingfour GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4–9 / A–C* in English Language, Maths, and Science.

These must be clearly listed on the application form; those who do not meet the criteria will not be shortlisted.

Candidates who already hold a Level 3 (or higher) Pharmacy qualification are not eligible for apprenticeship funding.

Supervised duties will include

  • Labelling, dispensing and accuracy checking a variety of prescriptions using our electronic prescribing system.
  • Learning how different medicines work and what they are used to treat.
  • Ordering, receiving and maintaining pharmaceutical stock.
  • Providing excellent customer care and maintaining confidentiality while dealing with patients, staff and the public.
  • Counselling patients on how to use their medicines safely.
  • Working directly with patients on wards and in clinics to ensure safe medicines use both while in hospital and on discharge.
  • Completing patient medication histories onwards.

Visa Sponsorship

This position is not eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship. Applicants must already hold the right to work in the UK for the full duration of the contract.
