About Me

I am a 32-year-old married individual living with agoraphobia and separation anxiety. I enjoy sports—especially golf and football—and love spending time outdoors, particularly walking my 10-month-old Labrador, who is currently being trained to assist with managing my panic attacks. I also have a calm and friendly 12-year-old cat at home.Due to my condition, I am unable to travel far from home and can experience heightened anxiety when alone, particularly when my wife is out. I am now looking to hire a compassionate and reliable carer/companion to provide support during these times and help reduce reliance on family members.

Role Overview

This is a companionship-focused role, providing emotional reassurance, a calming presence, and light practical support within the home and occasionally nearby outdoor environments (e.g., short dog walks). The role is not medically intensive but requires patience, understanding, and consistency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide companionship and reassurance during periods when I am alone
  • Support with managing anxiety and panic episodes in a calm, reassuring manner
  • Accompany me on short walks locally (including with my dog)
  • Assist in maintaining a relaxed, structured environment
  • Be a trusted, friendly presence to help build confidence and independence over time

Essential Requirements

  • Must hold a valid driving licence and have access to a car, as this provides an added sense of safety and reassurance
  • Kind, patient, and empathetic nature
  • Reliable and trustworthy, with a calm demeanor
  • Comfortable with dogs and cats
  • Good communication skills and ability to build trust

Desirable

  • Experience with anxiety disorders or mental health support (preferred but not essential)
  • Flexible availability

Hours & Pay

  • Flexible, part-time hours (primarily when my wife is out of the home)
  • Competitive hourly rate, depending on experience
