About this role
The post holder will be the first point of contact for patients, both in person and by telephone, providing a welcoming, professional and efficient reception service. The role involves supporting patients to access appropriate clinical care while maintaining a friendly and compassionate approach.
Key duties
Greet patients and handle enquiries courteously in person and by telephone Book, cancel and reschedule appointments including requests for home visits Triage patient enquiries and pass messages accurately in line with practice procedures Keep patients informed of delayed and address concerns sensitively Support GPs, Nurse and the wider clinical team with administrative requests Order ambulances and interpreters as required Maintain familiarity with appointment and telephone systems Work effectively as part of the reception team Handle complaints in accordance with practice procedures Ensure reception and waiting areas are clean and tidy
