Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon – Independent Practice

Location

Hampshire

Salary

£42,000 – £70,000 DOE

Job Type

Permanent, Full-Time

An independent small animal veterinary practice in Hampshire is seeking a dedicated and experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join its established and supportive clinical team. This opportunity has become available following the relocation of a long-standing vet to Singapore after five successful years with the practice.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon looking for clinical freedom, continuity of care, and genuine work-life balance within a highly respected independent practice.

About the Practice

The practice is a proudly independent, first-opinion small animal veterinary practice offering its own out-of-hours service exclusively for registered clients. The team is passionate about delivering high-quality patient care while maintaining strong client relationships and continuity throughout treatment.

The successful candidate will join an experienced and collaborative team consisting of six Small Animal Vets, skilled Registered Veterinary Nurses (RVNs), and a dedicated support team. The culture is centred around teamwork, clinical excellence, and mutual support.

A unique aspect of the practice culture is its protected Wednesday lunchtime closure, allowing the team dedicated time for CPD sessions, team catch-ups, shared lunches, or simply a well-earned break.

The veterinary team offers a broad range of clinical expertise and professional interests, including

  • A Clinical Director with a GP Certificate in Feline Practice and extensive experience in medicine and surgery
  • A Veterinary Surgeon holding a Certificate in Dentistry and Oral Surgery
  • A Veterinary Surgeon with an ECC Certificate

The practice has a strong history of developing veterinary careers, with several senior clinicians and directors having progressed internally from new graduates to leadership roles.

Located in Hampshire, the practice offers an outstanding work-life balance with easy access to the New Forest, South Downs, and the South Coast, while London is reachable in just over an hour by train.

  • Saturday consults separate from duty weekends
