The Role of the
Teacher of Drama
* Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality Drama lessons across Key Stages, ensuring all students make strong progress
* Develop and implement a creative and inclusive Drama curriculum that inspires a love of performance and theatre
* Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, using data to inform planning and support individual achievement
* Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEND and EAL
* Manage classroom behaviour effectively, maintaining a safe, respectful, and positive learning environment
* Direct and contribute to school productions, performances, and showcases, including after-school rehearsals
* Encourage students’ confidence, creativity, and teamwork through practical and performance-based learning
* Collaborate with colleagues within the Performing Arts department to share resources and develop best practice
* Support enrichment opportunities such as drama clubs, workshops, and external performance events
* Uphold safeguarding procedures and contribute to the wider pastoral care and well-being of students
What We’re Looking For
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Experience of, or strong understanding of, teaching Drama across key stage 3 and 4
* A passion for Performing Arts and the ability to inspire and engage students
* Strong classroom management and organisational skills
* A reflective, collaborative approach to teaching and professional development
* Commitment to contributing positively to the wider school and Trust community
