Medway SENDIASS service is seeking to recruit a part-time team manager.

From April 2026 Barnardo's has been commissioned to deliver SENDIASS provision in Medway, we are looking for an experienced and driven individual with a wealth of knowledge and experience of SENDIASS services to lead our team as Information Advice and Support Service Manager.

As Information Advice and Team Manager you will be expected to play a critical leadership role in the provision of accurate, impartial information on SEND procedures, rights, roles, and responsibilities within the SEND process, and the range of options available for the child/young person's education, health, and care; including their legal rights within the SEND process. This will also include some direct casework.

You will oversee the daily activity of the SENDIASS team with direct line management of the SENDIASS advisor and Triage and information officer and its full range of support services related to education, health and care, including continuous improvement of the service, whilst at all times ensuring that the work of yourself and your team take into account the SEND Code of Practice and other related statutory and regulatory matters at all times as well as complying with the IASS standards. This role will be overseen by the Children's service manager.

Our ideal candidate will have

Experience of working with children, young people and families in a SENDIASS setting

Hold the IPSEA qualifications at all levels, with evidence of regular refresher training

Experience of line management and or leading teams to deliver services to families.

Experience in safeguarding.

Knowledge all relevant legislation and the 2014 Special Educational Needs and Disability Code of Practice.

Knowledge of the SENDIASS quality standards.

Ability to work to deadlines.

Ability to produce reports to support with quality performance of the service.

Passionate about the voice of children, young people and families being central to service development, delivery and review.

A sound understanding of the SEND landscape within Medway and knowledge of key partners and support organisations within the local community.

As there is some requirement for outreach work within the community to develop awareness of the service and attend meetings the ability to travel independently across the Medway area is essential.
