The Role of the

Year Care Team Officer

* Assist the Achievement Team Leaders (ATL) in achieving their primary objective of raising

* standards of student achievement and well-being in a year group.

* Support ATL’S in promoting student leadership, responsibility and voice.

* Promote excellent communication across and within year teams.

* Organise activities, which promote a strong year group ethos and partnership with parents.

* Record, collate and organise data and information relating to student attendance, behaviour and progress.

* Maintain and update electronic databases and student files.

* Support tutors in managing student progress files.

* Work closely with colleagues involved in managing student assessment data to provide analyses of student progress in relation

to expectations.

What We’re Looking For

* Experience of, or strong understanding of, supporting students within a pastoral or year team setting in a secondary school

environment

* A genuine passion for supporting young people’s wellbeing, behaviour, and personal development

* The ability to build positive, trusting relationships with students to inspire engagement, resilience, and aspiration

* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload, including monitoring attendance, behaviour, and

safeguarding concerns

* Confidence in managing behaviour effectively and promoting a positive, respectful school culture

* A reflective and collaborative approach to working with colleagues, contributing to shared pastoral strategies and continuous

improvement

* Excellent communication skills when working with students, parents/carers, and external agencies

* A commitment to supporting the wider life of the school and contributing positively to the year group and school community
