About the Chaplaincy Department

The Chaplaincy department is a warm and welcoming team which seeks to shine and share the love of Jesus with all students and staff. It is a busy and thriving department, which upholds the Christian ethos through Acts of Worship, Form Worship and class prayers. It is passionate about providing opportunities for students and staff to grow in faith through the daily Christian Unions and weekly staff prayer meetings. It seeks to demonstrate the care and compassion of Jesus through the chaplaincy pastoral programmes. The Chaplaincy team is blessed to work alongside a team of service volunteers in the community who serve in the Trinity Service Programme and annual Prayer Space.

About You

We are looking for an Assistant Chaplain to join our Trinity Chaplaincy team. The pastoral needs of our students are growing and we require a positive, dynamic, “Jesus loving” Christian role model to work alongside many of our male students.

The successful candidate will be a committed and practising Christian and will play a central role in contributing to the school’s distinctive Christian ethos and offering Christian encouragement, guidance and support to all students.

Core responsibilities will focus primarily on providing pastoral support, discipleship and mentoring to our male students. The successful candidate will support and uphold Trinity’s Christian ethos including being involved in Acts of Worship and key services, plan lead and deliver a STRENGTH mentoring boys course and generate vision and energy within youth discipleship.

Previous experience within a school or church environment is essential along with experience of working with young people and adults seeking faith and young people with emotional, practical or personal problems. Ministry/Youth Ministry experience is preferred but not essential. Applicants must demonstrate a good standard of numeracy and literacy and will have good MS office skills e.g. Excel and Word

A positive attitude and calm manner with the ability to think and work creatively and flexibly whilst working with close attention to detail and under pressure to meet deadlines.
