About the Role

Are you someone who enjoys working in a busy kitchen, takes pride in keeping things clean and organised, and loves the idea of helping to serve nutritious meals to children every day? If so, we’d love to hear from you.

We’re looking for a School Kitchen Assistant to support our Cook/Supervisor in preparing and serving meals, maintaining high standards of food safety, and helping our school day run smoothly.

What You’ll Do

Assisting the Cook/Supervisor with preparing ingredients and cooking tasks.

Helping to deliver and serve school meals to pupils and staff.

Carrying out domestic duties such as cleaning, washing up, and maintaining a tidy kitchen.

Ensuring all food is prepared safely and in line with current food hygiene and health & safety legislation.

Supporting the smooth running of the kitchen during busy service times.

Attending training sessions and team meetings to keep your skills up to date.

Who We're Looking For

Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2) or willingness to complete training.

Ability to follow food safety, health & safety, and hygiene procedures to maintain a safe kitchen environment.

A positive, reliable team player who can support with meal preparation, serving, and general kitchen duties.

Someone who takes pride in keeping the kitchen clean, organised, and compliant with school policies and standards.

Willingness to attend training sessions and team meetings to support ongoing development.
